While we couldn’t pick a favorite, let’s chat about strength training. You know it as part 2 of a SPENGA session, the burn after the bike, but do you know why it’s just so darn great?
Strength training builds muscles and the more muscles we have, the more calories we burn at rest. This is beneficial for weight loss and weight maintenance. Adding more muscle mass is important as we get older too. The body naturally loses muscle mass during the aging process, so strength training helps fight against that. Plus strengthening our muscles helps keep our bones strong too.
With so many different forms of strength training, from dumbbells to kettlebells to bodyweight exercises, you’re sure to keep your body guessing. New challenges are effective at continuing to strengthen our bodies and keep us moving not only in the studio, but helps us to perform everyday activities with ease.
