Most of us thrive on routine -- routines for work, routines for fitness and routines for fun. So when our schedule gets extra busy it can be tempting to put your WERKouts on the back burner. But you don’t necessarily have to! Yes, sometimes routines need to be modified, but it doesn’t mean you need to give up exercise.
Follow the tips below to get a WERKout in when life gets busy.
WERK in the Morning
If you can, squeeze your WERKout in first thing in the morning. As the day goes on, most of us lose motivation as our day fills up with other activities and to-dos. Even if you’re not a morning person, starting your morning with exercise can be highly beneficial and increase the chance you’ll stick to your routine long term.
WERK with Friends
It’s easier to stick to a commitment if it involves another person. Make plans to meet a friend at the studio or tell your favorite instructor you’ll see them at their next session. You can also make socializing active by meeting for coffee and a walk around the neighborhood.
WERK in Small Amounts of Time
Even with modifications, sometimes a schedule just doesn’t allow for a trip to the studio. In this case, squeeze in movement where you can. Do squats or push-ups during work breaks. Try a walking meeting or park further from your destination. It doesn’t really matter what it is -- just move!
